The Temple of Heaven is located in the southern part of Beijing. The four positions along the inner circle represents the four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter, the 12 posts along the middle circle represent the 12 months and 12 posts along the outer circle represent 12 Shichen ( Shichen is a way of counting time in ancient China. The Hall has a base named Altar of sentences of grains, which is composed of three layers of white marble and has a height of six meters. White marble railings surround the vault.
The Vermilion Steps Bridge connects the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest and the Imperial Vault of Heaven. The southern end of the bridge is lower than its northern end. The emperors in the past thought they could go to heaven through this bridge, so this bridge is also called Sacred Way. Yu and Wang A route is a route on both sides of the Via Sacra. Echo is three stones out of the gate of the Imperial Vault of Heaven. If you speak in front of the foot vault on the first stone, you hear an echo, standing in the second and the third stone, you hear two three echoes, respectively.
Another interesting place to visit and famous Echo Wall is called owning special feature. The wall encloses the Imperial Vault of Heaven. Its perimeter is 193 meters.
