Travel the Forbidden City in China Tourist Attractions

The Forbidden City in Tiananmen Square, the heart of Beijing and is the most impressive palace complex and elegant in the world. It consists of a series of buildings which together house 9999 1 / 2 bedrooms.

The Forbidden City was built almost 500 years. It was an appropriate name because most common were not allowed near him and the emperor who ruled from the strong walls of this huge place rarely ventured out. The construction of this great structure began in 1407 and 1420 complete more than one million workers and thousands of artisans. The complex served as a residence at 24 Qing and Ming dynasty rulers, the last emperor to be evicted in 1924.

The Forbidden City was a fantasy in those days and is still an enigma. Even today the walls seem to whisper the plots they had seen, the secrets they had heard and the passion they had witnessed.

The Chinese left no stone unturned in the beautification of the place. The rectangular structure has a door on each side. White marble was used in their construction and the walls were made of terracotta, and yellow was the color of royalty, yellow tiles used for roofing. Even the decorations painted in yellow. The red brick exterior of the wall is extremely strong and angular (that is broad at the base and narrows at the top) it virtually impossible to climb. The palace was protected by a moat over six feet deep. The complex has two sections: the South, which was the outer court, where the emperor conducted the affairs of the country and the Northern Section, where he lived with his family.

Yet the place is pretty amazing, but some sections are not to miss the Hall of Supreme Harmony, the Dragon Throne and the Gallery of the Treasury. The Hall is epitomized greatness and splendor and all the important ceremonies, such as the new emperor's coronation, royal weddings, birthdays and royal feasts were held here. The emperor also received dignitaries in this room. The room was quite high and symbolized royal supremacy. No building was allowed to be superior to the Chamber. Treasure Gallery consists of three rooms and displays items of daily use in the Royal House.

The Forbidden City is a good example of Chinese architecture. Included in the list of UNESCO as Cultural Heritage in 1987 and is now the Palace Museum. Each year attracts thousands of tourists.
