Travel Wat Rong Khun ,Thailand Temples Tourist Attractions

Wat Rong Khun is a modern and unconventional Buddhist Hindu temple in Chiang Rai, Thailand. It was designed by Chalermchai Kositpipat. Construction began in 1997.
Wat Rong Khun is different from any other temple in Thailand, as its ubosot is designed in white with some use of white glass. The color white represents the purity of the Lord Buddha, the white glass represents the Buddha's wisdom that "shines throughout the Earth and the Universe."
The bridge leading to the temple represents the next step in the cycle of rebirth to the abode of Lord Buddha. The small semicircle before the bridge is the world of humans. The great circle with fangs is the mouth of Rahu, ie, the impurities of the mind, a representation of hell and suffering.
All the paintings inside the ubosot has golden tones. The four walls, ceiling and floor contain paintings showing an escape from the impurities of the temptation to reach a supramundane state. On the roof, there are four types of animals that represent the earth, water, wind and fire. The elephant represents the earth, the Naga stands for water, the wings of the swan represents the wind and the lion's mane represents fire.
Visitors will find it strange to find modern images over this temple. Images of the Predator in the Hollywood movie, Spiderman, Batman, Keanu Reeves character in the Matrix, rockets, etc. The sea of hands raised toward the bridge to the temple, holding some skulls are very striking.
In 1997, Chalermchai Kositpipat offered his services to carry out the construction of the ubosot on its own as an offering to Buddha, but then the project was modified at will, so that Wat Rong Khun became a prominent attract Thai and foreign visitors.
