The Wat Phra Kaew, pronunciation, English: Temple of the Emerald Buddha full official name Wat Phra Si Rattana of Satsadaram, is considered the most sacred Buddhist temple (wat) in Thailand. This is a "powerful political and religious symbol and palladium of Thai society." It is located in the historic center of Bangkok (district Phra Nakhon), within the precincts of the Grand Palace.
